Test Of Faith No. 1 in final 2021 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

Hightstown, NJ — Three-year-old female pacer Test Of Faith ended the Grand Circuit season as the No. 1-ranked horse in the final 2021 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Tuesday. Test Of Faith took over the top spot in Week 24 and remained there the rest of the way.

She was one of five horses to occupy the No. 1 position this year. The others were Manchego, This Is The Plan, Captain Corey, and Lyons Sentinel. Manchego spent 13 weeks at No. 1 while Test Of Faith and Lyons Sentinel each enjoyed five weeks at the top. Captain Corey was first for three weeks and This Is The Plan for two.

It was the most horses to be ranked No. 1 in a year since 2012 when six horses spent time in the top position: Golden Receiver, Foiled Again, Sweet Lou, American Jewel, Check Me Out, and Chapter Seven.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
