48-1 offering Mars Hill rode the cones in the second Hambletonian elimination and earned a spot in the final with a fifth-place finish. Making his first appearance with trotting hobbles, he was 9 1/2 lengths behind winner T C I, timed in 1:52.3 and trotted a 27.4 final quarter.

As a freshman Mars Hill won two New Jersey Sire Stakes legs at the Meadowlands, his Williem Wellwood Memorial elimination at Woodbine Mohawk Park and his Bluegrass division at The Red Mile. He was second in the Wellwood final. Mars Hill has won once as a 3-year-old, taking an overnight race at the Meadowlands on June 14. He lowered his mark to 1:52.4 in a qualifier at The Big M on July 6. In stakes action thus far in 2024, Mars Hill was second in a pair of New Jersey Sire Stakes rounds and eighth in his Stanley Dancer Memorial split.
