Southwind Ozzi makes big move in this week’s poll

Hightstown, NJ — Little Brown Jug winner Southwind Ozzi climbed the rankings in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, jumping from No. 10 to No. 5. The colt was the only horse in last week’s top 10 in action.

Tall Dark Stranger, who is 6-for-6 after winning the Metro Pace, joined the rankings at No. 10. Forbidden Traded dropped out of the top 10.

Shartin N remained the unanimous No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week, followed by Greenshoe, Lather Up, and Bettor’s Wish. Atlanta, Real Cool Sam, Gimpanzee, and Captain Crunch followed Southwind Ozzi and joined Tall Dark Stranger in completing the top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
