No change at the top; Southwind Ozzi returns to this week’s poll

Hightstown, NJ — Southwind Ozzi returned to the top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll following his win in last week’s Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final. The 3-year-old pacing colt, who made his previous top-10 appearance in week 10, was the only newcomer in the top 10.

For the second consecutive week, Shartin N was the unanimous No. 1. The 6-year-old female pacer was idle last week.

Following is how the remainder of this week’s top 10 fared: Lather Up, scratched from Ewart Memorial; Bettor’s Wish, idle; Greenshoe, won Kentucky Sire Stakes division; Atlanta, won Hill Memorial; Real Cool Sam, won Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final; Forbidden Trade, idle; Captain Crunch, fourth in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final; Gimpanzee, idle.

Dropping out of the top 10: Guardian Angel AS, fourth in Hill Memorial.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
