Mission Brief scores impressively in Freshman Trot

Mission Brief shattered the stakes record with a dominant victory in the $500,000 2-Year-Old Filly Trot. 


Mission Brief beat Danielle Hall by 4 3/4 lengths in 1:51 4/5 for the mile, slicing a full two seconds off the mark set by Shake It Cerry last year.

“With her, you know there’s always a risk<" Gingras said. "You’re never sure what you’re going to get until you go to the gate with her. But in the post parade tonight, I could tell she was going to be very good. She was very relaxed and I had a ton of confidence going to the gate. She was as super solid as she’s every been.”

Mission Brief took charge down the backstretch and was in full command in the stretch with Yannick Gingras driving for trainer Ron Burke. 

"The talent this filly has is unbelievable," Gingras said. "As long as she stays sound, she’s going to do amazing things.” 

Mission Brief improved to 9 for 13, paying $2.80 to win for Burke Racing, Our Horse Cents Stables, J & T Silva & Weaver Bruscemi.
